Overview

You can delete your Files Hub account at any time. This page provides complete instructions for permanently removing your account and all associated data.

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All your projects, files, API keys, and settings will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Before You Delete Your Account

Please consider the following before proceeding:

Export Your Data

Download any files you want to keep. Once your account is deleted, you won't be able to access them.

  • Go to each project and download your files
  • Use the API to bulk download if you have many files
  • Request a data export by contacting support

Update Your Applications

If you're using Files Hub API in any applications:

  • Remove API keys from your applications
  • Update your code to handle missing files gracefully
  • Ensure you have backups of critical files

Cancel Subscriptions

If you have an active subscription, cancel it before deleting your account to avoid future charges. Deleting your account does not automatically refund prepaid services.

Alternative: Temporarily Disable

If you're unsure about permanent deletion, consider temporarily disabling your account or deleting specific projects instead. Contact support for assistance.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: Through Your Dashboard

  1. Log in to your account

    Visit Files Hub and sign in with your credentials

  2. Go to Account Settings

    Click on your profile icon and select "Settings" or "Account Settings"

  3. Navigate to Account Deletion

    Scroll to the bottom of the page to find "Delete Account" section

  4. Review the warnings

    Read through the information about what will be deleted

  5. Enter your password

    Confirm your identity by entering your current password

  6. Type confirmation phrase

    Type "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" (case-sensitive) to confirm

  7. Click "Permanently Delete Account"

    Final confirmation button to delete your account

  • All projects

  • Authentication credentials

Usage Data

  • Activity logs (after 90 days)
  • API usage data

Immediate
Account access revoked, API keys disabled, files become inaccessible

Files permanently deleted from primary storage, database records removed

Access logs and security data removed (retained for compliance)

Data Retained After Deletion

For legal and compliance purposes, we may retain certain information for up to 7 years:

  • Financial Records: Transaction history, invoices, payment records (tax compliance)
  • Legal Records: Data required by law enforcement or legal proceedings
  • Fraud Prevention: Information related to fraudulent activity or security incidents

This retained data does not include your files or file content, only transactional and legal compliance data.

Reactivation

Account deletion is permanent. You cannot reactivate a deleted account.

If you want to use Files Hub again in the future, you will need to create a new account with a different email address. None of your previous data, files, or settings can be restored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I delete just some of my data instead of my entire account?

Yes! You can delete individual files or entire projects without deleting your account. See our Data Deletion page for instructions.

Will I get a refund if I delete my account?

Account deletion does not automatically trigger refunds. Refunds are handled according to our refund policy. Contact support before deleting if you have billing questions.

How long does the deletion process take?

Your account is immediately deactivated. Complete data removal takes up to 30 days, with some legal/compliance data retained for up to 7 years.

Can I use the same email address if I create a new account later?

After your account is fully deleted (30 days), you may be able to reuse the same email address for a new account. However, none of your previous data will be restored.
